Monarch Nails - the process, part 2
Starting with freshly polished nails, we proceed to taping our fingers to prevent a messy cleanup later. Create a gradient on each nail with a makeup sponge. From there, water marble over the gradient with black and sheer colors. Add white dots on top of the black to create a butterfly-esque design!
Monarch nails with indoor and natural light. Pictures don’t do this justice!

Monarch Nails - the process, part 1
10 different kinds of polish, masking tape, makeup sponge, distilled water, shot glass, stick, acetone, nail dotting tool, napkin, q-tips and a drink… a well needed drink!
Here is a preview of a monarch-inspired watermarble. (Concept inspired from ProfessionalIDQ’s tutorial here.) This is in sunlight on my cameraphone, but I’ll have some more photos for you soon from my regular camera! This process was pretty significant, so I’m not going to list all the details. I will have photos of all the colors I used, so you have an idea of what happened!
Please pardon my janky cuticles When I was adding rhinestones, I got the glue everywhere! They have been peeling a bit due to that. :(
Base: Essie, Grow Stronger
Main: The New Black Color Baromoter - Orange [plus a few extras for gradient]
Water Marble: Cult Nails, Nevermore [plus a few translucent colors in-between…]
Spots: Cult Nails, Tempest
Top: Seche Vite, Dry Fast Top Coat

We aren’t just in the Denver area… we are right downtown! We’d love to meetup with other dogs of tumblr sometime.
There is a Corgi Meetup in Littleton. I don’t think they’ve met in Denver yet, but they seem open to other locations. Might be something to consider. :)
